5 X-Men Mavericks Fans Are Itching to See in the ‘Deadpool 3’ Fusion of Fox and Marvel
Having secured 20th Century Fox, Disney’s Marvel is poised to elevate Deadpool 3 to new heights. With the famed entry of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in its third movie, the Ryan Reynolds-led franchise’s fans were running wild spewing theories of X-men crossovers that may appear in the flick. After opening the floodgates of speculation, the film’s makers and some leaks confirmed cameos by Jennifer Garner’s Elektra and the villainous Sabretooth.
Beyond these revelations, here are five other characters from the mutant franchise that would complement the irreverent charm of Reynolds’ Deadpool and Jackman’s Wolverine.
The man who started it all: Professor Charles Xavier

After his fatal cameo in 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the genius founder of the X-men, Charles Xavier certainly deserves a chance to redeem his reputation in Deadpool 3. Since Deadpool 3 is believed to explore facets of the space-time continuum, his return to the comic book-inspired realm is very possible. Especially since this cerebral mastermind of the mutants shares an intriguing kinship with Wolverine.
A bond that transcends mere mentorship, the professor has delved into the labyrinth of Wolverine’s mind several times. So, another possibility that his appearance would offer would be the prospect of peeking into Deadpool’s mind and its hilariously tragic workings through his telepathy.
To even out the scales, this formidable hero would require an equally menacing antagonist to keep the flick interesting.
The perfect Deadpool 3 supervillain: Magneto
Considering the growing number of superhero features in Deadpool 3, it would only make sense for the movie to stack up on some villains that get in the way of the red-and-yellow tag team of Deadpool and Wolverine. With a magnetic appeal that transcends his metal-bending superpowers, Magneto is among the few antagonists who once got the best of Logan. A fight sequence between these characters would be undeniably epic.
For Magneto, Wolverine was not just an adamantium-clawed enigma but a potential ally in the mutant struggle. So, he could also be the perfect fit for a character that makes Jackman’s character question his loyalties. In their supreme clash of ideologies, who knows what could ensue?
To help the superheroes defeat this supervillain, the team might require the services of Professor X’s favorite student.
The one Professor X mentored to perfection: Phoenix
With Wade Wilson’s arc rooted in his love for his dead wife, it may be time for Wolverine to revisit an old love interest of his in Deadpool 3. After their unfinished love story in 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand, Phoenix and Wolverine’s reunion is long due anyway. To achieve the ultimate symphony of mutant magic and romance, the addition of Phoenix to Deadpool 3 would certainly be optimal.
Through the fiery intensity of Sophie Turner, who portrayed her in Dark Phoenix, she could mirror the primal chaos within Wolverine with her tumultuous energy perfectly. Once a liability for the mutant-kind, Jean Grey’s unpredictable powers could serve as the perfect ‘X factor’ for Deadpool 3’s plot.
Another female powerhouse who appeared in Dark Phoenix would complement Phoenix’s presence perfectly.
The one who can bring the winds of change: Storm
Deadpool 3 is believed to carry not only a large number of cameos but also an almost equal representation of females through these features. With the addition of Elektra to the Deadpool tribe’s Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Yukio, the flick could feature an all-female squad by roping in the electrifying Storm. Especially if the rumors about Taylor Swift’s cameo as Dazzler turn out to be true!
After all, her regal poise and elemental control make her one of the most enigmatic female mutants. In the X-Men comics, Wolverine is shown to have shared an on-off relationship with Storm. While this arc never fully translated to movies, Deadpool 3 could also serve as the perfect set-up for something along these lines to transpire.
Not to forget another character who was among the original founders of the X-men.
The genius doctor: Beast

Despite being one of the most central characters of the original X-Men, Hank McCoy has not featured in many films from the mutant franchise. With his formidable intellect, Beast could be the voice of reason amidst Deadpool’s emotional anecdotes and Wolverine’s rage. Especially because of his strained frenemy-like relationship with Wolverine who once called him a “furball“.
In a way, the hairy blue superhuman would also make for the perfect character for Deadpool to bounce off jokes about Dogpool who was recently confirmed to be in the movie! Not to forget his beastly primal strength that could be of use in a battle or two!
