Fans in Stitches Over Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s Nod to The Iconic Wham! Duo
The coming together of two hilariously witty NYC jesters will always unleash a comedy hurricane for the world. And something similar has been happening across the digital sphere ever since Ryan Reynolds found his comedic sidekick. No, not Blake Lively, but Rob McElhenney. Popular for their playful antics and silly comedy escapades, these stars have consistently left fans in fits of laughter. And their latest lark, the recreation of the iconic musical duo, Wham!, once again had fans holding their stomachs in pain from laughter.
Rob McElhenney took to Instagram to share two pictures of the Wrexham owners. The pictures gave a nod to the Wham! and recreated a vintage portrait of the iconic pop duo George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley. McElhenney added a “REX” to the “WHAM” in the caption, and made it into “WREXHAM”, along with a little Christmas tree emoticon. Reynolds then went on to re-share the post in his story and tagged Wrexham AFC’s official handle.

These iconic posters were from their 1986 song, ‘Last Christmas’, and the cover of the studio album ‘Fantastic’. While Reynolds did his best Michael impression, McElhenney pulled a Ridgeley in the photoshopped image. This photoshopped recreation initially appeared courtesy of the user DarthPunk69 on X, formerly Twitter. However, after catching the attention of Hollywood heavyweights, fans were quick to join in on the fun, too.
