Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney pulled a struggling soccer team out of the shadows and successfully put it on the map again. Wrexham AFC, a team that was at its lowest sporting ebb owing to endless financial distress, bounced back with a bang after the Hollywood stars decided to have its back. Over the last two seasons, the actors have been generously funding to uplift the team. And after their performance in the latest match, it seems like their investment paid off. 

Both Red Dragons and Salford City have been contending with one another over the years. The last time both the teams faced off in the race course resulted in a 2-0 defeat for the Red Dragons. However, the direction of the wind has changed as Wrexham AFC pulled off an epic comeback in its last match with the Salford City. Reynolds recently shared a clip from Wrexham AFC’s official page on X, formerly Twitter, showcasing the epic goal that marked their comeback. 

For quite some time, both teams pulled an equalizer at the game until Scottish striker Steven Fletcher smashed a goal in the 87th minute. In the blink of an eye following the first goal, Jordan Andrew Davies knocked another goal, making the Red Dragons win five matches in a row. Apart from Reynolds, Paul Mullin also congratulated the team by sharing a post on social media. 

As soon as Reynolds shared the clip from the match, fans started to flood the comments with their laudatory messages for the team.

The video featured Davies, who pulled the winning goal for the team, sending Wrexham AFC into fifth place in League 2. Reynolds put some exploding head emojis as the caption, expressing his disbelief at the incredible comeback. Wrexham AFC made the game their own in just thirty-five minutes, securing a 2-0 score against Salford City. Soccer fans took to the platform to share their joy at seeing the red dragons establishing themselves in the football arena once again. 

Many shared congratulatory messages for the team’s win against Salford City. Fans also hilariously pointed at the commentator, Mark Griffith, who screamed his lungs out upon witnessing the goal. 

Netizens praised the Welsh professional footballer, Jordan, for his winning goal. A fan even compared the spirit of the Red Dragons with that of Sylvester Stallone’s 1976 character, Rocky. 

They also appreciated the teamwork that Wrexham AFC has been showing since the start. Additionally, there was also anticipation for the upcoming Poundland match on 29th December.
