Even After Being an Avid Twitter User, Ryan Reynolds Joins the Squad of Celebrities Who Have Not Yet Paid for the Blue Ticks
The year 2022 set a record for having some of the biggest controversies of the decade. Be it the infamous Oscar Slapgate incident or the anti-Semitic remarks of Kanye West, the year saw a lot of drama. But it seems like Twitter and Elon Musk might take up the 2023 debut controversy. Surprisingly, Ryan Reynolds has something to do with the recent Twitter blue-tick controversy.
Twitter’s CEO, Elon Musk, confirmed the other day that those willing to keep their blue ticks on Twitter will have to pay a monthly charge of $8 to the company. The plan was immediately brought into action, and those who hadn’t paid the charges immediately got their ticks removed, irrespective of their followers on the platform. And Reynolds is one of them.

The Deadpool star is very active on Twitter and has about 21.3 million followers. He uses Twitter to share every necessary update about his projects and brands that he owns. However, his profile does not show the tick, and it seems like the actor has not taken the initiative to pay for it.
He is not the only celebrity who has not subscribed to the tick yet. Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Bill Gates have joined the list of unverified celebrity accounts.
While the aforementioned celebrities continue using the platform without verification, there are a few people Musk is sponsoring himself.

There is only one person who can answer what is going on in Elon Musk’s mind, and that is Musk himself. While he has promulgated that everyone, irrespective of celebrity status, has to pay for the blue tick from their own pocket, there are a few people whom he has kept above this rule.

The celebrities who have made it to the good books of Musk are author Stephen King, LeBron James, and actor William Shatner. The 51-year-old CEO of Twitter has not explained why he is sponsoring these three legends.
