As per a newsletter from Puck, the release date of Deadpool 3 has been pushed back to its original date. When the film was given the green light to begin production amid the ongoing strike in May of this year, the release date was set for May 2024. But things took a turn as the Free Guy actor joined the actors’ strike.
According to the newsletter, Deadpool 3 could only halt production for a month before they would have to push the release back again. And owing to the recent developments of the SAG-AFTRA strike, the chances of reaching an agreement are slim. Since it does not really seem like happening anytime soon, it is likely that we only see our comic-accurate costumes on our favorite heroes later in November 2024.
Since this recent halt in production will lead to the movie makers pushing it back to its original release slot, let us look at the development around SAG-AFTRA.

A lot of projects that were set to put their wheels in motion have abandoned plans for the time being. After the writers’ strike, the actors joined the movement to demand fair pay and job security. Not just Deadpool 3, but other Marvel movies like Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts, and Venom faced the wrath too.
Other Hollywood shows like Emily in Paris, The White Lotus, and Alien received similar blows. Since we do not know how long the studios will take to reach an amicable agreement, future plans are unclear.
