The American actress shared how her trip with her grandmother ignited interest in theater. During her chat with the hosts of SmartLess podcast, she revealed she did not have an easy childhood. Amidst her being an angry kid, her grandmother took her to watch a play, joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, at the Music Circus Theater in Sacramento, California.

As soon as the show began, Chastain saw a little girl on stage and she realized it was her. Looking at the little girl on stage, The Help actress decided this was what she was going to do. And thus, she started to dream about being an actress when she was just 7. That dream of hers came to fruition and more, with her having a successful career in Hollywood today.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a sung-through musical, first performed on the 1st of March 1968. Interestingly, the Interstellar actress did not even remember what happened in the play, as she admitted during her conversation on the podcast. Moreover, she revealed she watched the show just once. But it certainly influenced her a lot, as she mentioned earlier.

Starting from the year 1998, The Good Nurse actress is now a huge name that influences aspiring actors. One admirer of the actress’ work is none other than Sean Hayes, one of the hosts of SmartLess. Chastain also shared an interesting incident where she and Hayes were just mouthing words at an event.
