Ryan Reynolds is probably one of the best-known actors in the world right now. From acting to owning his own football team, he seems to have one of the most successful careers in Hollywood. With a huge following even before he ever became Deadpool, it has only increased with the growth of the franchise. But while most of the actor’s films are known all over the world, there was one that managed to slip into the cracks.

Over a decade after Lindsay Lohan’s Freaky Friday hit the screen, the Deadpool 3 actor followed up the body-swapping film with one of his own.

Though the actor will always be renowned for his role in Deadpool, Reynolds has a long list of movies to his name. Some are even over a decade old now. But while everyone is quick to remember some of the actors’ biggest movies, his 2015 Self/less has been left behind. In Tarsem Singh’s Self/less, Ryan Reynolds ended up being forced to body swap with a billionaire who had a terminally ill disease, which was completely unlike the peppy teen drama that was Freaky Friday.

For audiences that like a good body swap, the film was considered a swing and a miss. Despite having renowned cast members like the Oscar-winning, Ben Kingsley, Self/less ended up collecting only $30.5 million at the box office against a budget of $26 million. Meanwhile, Freaky Friday was a big commercial success, with over $160 million box office collection and a budget of $26 million.

Reynolds loves body-swapping genre

Even though Self/less did not do very well at the box office and fans had a lot of criticism, Ryan Reynolds continued to explore his love for body-swapping movies. And it looks like the actor may have perfected the genre. Along with director Ariel Vromen, the actor gave his fans Criminal in 2016.

That was not all. Ryan Reynolds decided to push his luck and see just how far he could take it with The Change-Up back in 2011 with Jason Bateman. While the movie was pretty well received by fans of comedy, others were not very impressed until 2016.
