Will Smith is a name not unknown to the masses. Perhaps one of the most successful actors in the industry, the Men In Black star has cemented himself as an icon. Throughout his career, Smith has experimented with a plethora of genres ranging from action to sports biographies. On the other side of the spectrum, we have Mark Wahlberg, another incredibly successful actor. Wahlberg too has had a similar career trajectory as Smith with a handful of sports biographies under his belt.

And as surprising as it sounds, a boxing federation once offered a million dollars to the duo to go head-to-head against each other.

We are no strangers to the incredible performer that Smith is. Back in 2001, the American actor left everyone in awe after he portrayed the character of legendary boxer Mohammad Ali to perfection in Ali. Similarly in 2010, Mark Wahlberg gave the audience yet another memorable boxing film, The Fighter. The Spenser Confidential actor starred as boxer Micky Ward delivering one of his finest performances. Owing to the duo’s incredible work in the two films, Damon Feldman from the Hollywood boxing federation made an interesting offer to the two. Apparently, Feldman promised a whooping $1 million dollar to the two actors to go against each other in a ring.

The challenge surely left everyone in Hollywood in shock since the actor never raised any issues against each other publicly. Furthermore, many speculated that the duo did not show much interest since they could easily earn millions doing films instead. However, Feldman revealed that the earnings from the fight was not for the actors to take home.

As surprising as it sounds, the head of Hollywood boxing federation revealed that the whole purpose of the fight was for a generous cause. Apparently, the entirety of the prize pool would be donated to the preferred charities of the actor who won the bout.

While the boxing match never happened, another project bringing Wahlberg and Smith together also didn’t happen.

How the two almost starred in a super popular film together

Throughout their careers, both Wahlberg and Smith have starred in innumerable films and shows. Despite being in the industry for nearly a similar period, the duo has never starred together. However, it might surprise you to know that the Uncharted actor almost starred in one of Smith’s most popular film.

We are no strangers to the legacy the film series Men In Black has left behind in Hollywood. The action film is one of Smith’s most successful outings as an actor. And interestingly, Wahlberg nearly starred as Agent K in the third instalment of the film. However, sadly, Josh Brolin auditioned for the role and made an instant impression on Tommy Lee Jones.
