Not only did he manage to win the hearts of fans, but of people all around. Despite a busy schedule, he has managed to lead in movies, spend time with family, and handle a team.

The shoots of his Deadpool 3 are also about to begin. The franchise that turned out to be one of the biggest Marvel hit, now has the pressure to top the previous films with more action and perfection. But director Shawn Levy once revealed Reynolds’ obsession with the football team.

In a matter of years, Reynolds and Rob McElhenney restored Wrexham AFC back to its old glory while making it famous beyond borders. They recently got promoted to a higher league, bringing in a big celebration for the team. Deadpool director and a friend of the actor was asked if he could get people, tickets to the game, back in September during the Emmy Awards. Shawn Levy joked while speaking to E! Talk, “First of all, Ryan’s obsession with Wrexham is a problem“.

He continued to explain how he could understand the actor’s obsession with his home country Canada but his love for Wrexham may be distracting him from Deadpool 3. As per him, people in Wales are as obsessed with the actor as he is with the team. Although the 46-year-old has managed to convince Hugh Jackman to reprise his role as Wolverine and both are working out hard to bulk up for the flick.

Ryan Reynolds aimed to buy Ottawa Senators after his success with Wrexham. But due to some differences, the actor pulled out his bid. However, he and McElhenney now have the Welsh Government’s support to renovate and upgrade the Racecourse Ground. A whopping £25 million has been granted to add a new stand and increase capacity to accommodate more fans in the stadium. This would not only boost football fans but also tourism for the place.
