When it comes to bringing superheroes to life, Hollywood has stolen lightning from the Gods themselves. But there is only so much that a billion-dollar budget can do. And this paves the way for fan art to shine. Fanarts serve as a kaleidoscope of dreams for superhero buffs that Hollywood can only dream of. But there has now emerged a thread that connects the two of them. As Ryan Reynolds makes his way into MCU as Deadpool with beloved X-Men Wolverine, a fanart once again connects it to the 1988 Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito comedic gold, Twins.

It is hard to stumble upon a masterpiece of the kind Ivan Reitman created with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito. The dynamic duo of Julius Benedict and Vincent Benedict arguably possess enough humor and charm for five Marvel movies combined. And a genius fanart by Bing Madsen just further cemented this verity. His drawing features a Terminator-era Arnold Schwarzenegger as Colossus standing next to Danny DeVito with his Wolverine claws.

To go with the beautiful fanart, the artist attaches a caption along the lines of if Marvel were not “cowards” they would have cast Schwarzenegger and DeVito as Wolverine and Colossus. This makes us wonder what the Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman starrer Deadpool 3 could be.

The fanart may be in all good humor, but it does not fall very far from the truth that the running gag of Schwarzenegger and DeVito’s height disparity in the film makes them the near-perfect casting for Colossus and Wolverine.

With a total of 1,376 likes and growing, the fanart is spreading on the Internet like wildfire. However, it is ironic how now that Wade Wilson is finally edging closer to his dream cinematic universe, fans are calling for the original inspiration behind the Merc with a Mouth.

How Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito’s Twins inspired Deadpool?

With a time window of more than decades between them, it is hard to connect the comedic brilliance of Twins to the action kerfuffle that is Deadpool at first glance. However, if you put Wade Wilson’s razor-sharp humor through a genealogy test, it would trace its lineage back to Vincent Benedict’s irreverent wit.

This was confirmed by Rob Liefeld in his interview with Complex, who said, “I stole that crap straight out of Twins” with his whole chest when he revealed the inspiration behind Deadpool’s character. He may have drawn his character’s personality out of it, but would Liefeld be willing to truly commit to making Danny DeVito a superhero? It is in the best interest of Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool 3 that he does not.
