The leak that majorly targeted information about upcoming video games has led to an exciting revelation for Ryan Reynolds fans, titled The Great Detective Pikachu, the sequel has been in the works since 2021.

According to the leak, Jordan Vogt-Roberts will be directing the new movie. Given that its predecessor held the spot for the highest-grossing video game film adaptation of all time for a good four years, along with bringing special acclaim for Ryan Reynolds' performance, the expectations are off the charts for this one.

Despite being a video game adaptation and not demanding an on-screen presence from Ryan Reynolds, Detective Pikachu despite it having been years since its release, remains a strong favorite. However, the recent revelation about it has more downsides than up.

Upon its release, the plot helmed from the Detective Pikachu video game, with its emotional layering, hilarious quips, and moving voice performances sealed the deal and went on to do big numbers at the box office. Therefore, the fact that it was renewed for a sequel does not come as much of a surprise but the fact that it has been in the works since 2021 and yet no information was made public definitely does.

Upon much pondering, the likely reason for the movie being under wraps was concluded to it being already shelved. Moreover, its recent leak is reminiscent of another Ryan Reynolds movie, where the alleged 'leak' led to a public uproar over the movie's release.
