Amidst WGA and SAG-AFTRA’s Awaited End, Shawn Levy Shares the Affects on Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman Led ‘Deadpool 3′
Last year, when news of Deadpool 3 broke, fans all over the world lost their minds. But all those dreams were crushed in July when the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike took off. After months of waiting, the film ended up being removed from Disney’s calendar, but that has not seemed to stop the director, Shawn Levy, from making sure his leading men, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are ready to pick up their roles exactly where they left off.
Most recently, Shawn Levy took to his social media to give fans an inside peek into how his stars are keeping up with the ongoing uncertainty and the wait for the film.

While fans may not be the only ones waiting for the filming to kick off again, it looks like it could take a little more time before things end up settling down. But thankfully, the director of Deadpool 3 always knows exactly what his audience wants. Most recently, Levy took to his Instagram stories to share a picture of him, Ryan Reynolds, and Hugh Jackman sitting at the kitchen counter in someone’s house, sharing a meal. While the picture definitely garnered attention, it was his caption that became the talk of the town. The picture of the three was captioned, “Three amigos waiting to shoot again…”
While the picture may have proved that everyone is waiting for an update on the upcoming film, the SAG-AFTRA strike seems to be stuck in negotiations for 4 months now with no end in sight. It may take a while longer before fans get any official updates on the film or any other film, but at least there are updates from their Hollywood favorites. Shortly before Shawn Levy decided to give his followers a look at the three amigos, the director revealed that he was still making sure that Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman were physically ready to take on the role whenever it came back around.
Just mere hours before Shawn Levy shared his update with his followers, the director shared a few surprising facts during an interview on how the SAG-AFTRA strike was affecting him and his leading men.

After trying to put a stop to the film’s casting rumors, Shawn Levy recently took to his Instagram to reveal that he had met with Total Film to talk about Deadpool 3 back in August. In the interview, he revealed that although he was itching to get back to the film, it was “impatience and a certain agita, the waiting” that the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike brought that he could not handle. However, in usual Levy fashion, he went on to say that Reynolds and Jackman had it worse.
He said that even though everything had been halted, the actors still had to keep up their appearances, especially for their roles. Levy claimed that for them the waiting involved an obscene amount of “boiled chicken.” Sadly, the actors are probably going to have to continue their high protein intakes in case the strike does reach its end soon. But at least, fans can expect more social media updates about the three amigos while they wait.
