Amidst ‘The Simpsons’ Predicting Titanic Submarine Rumors, the Creator Shares His Thoughts About It All

Over the years The Simpsons has remained famous for making predictions about future events. Shockingly, some of them have even come true leaving fans wondering how this 1980s show could do this. Adding another miraculous moment to their list, fans recently noticed their forecast about Titanic. The legendary ship went down into a freezing sea when an iceberg hit it. Fans are now convinced on social media that the show predicted this moment over 17 years ago. Amidst these rumors about the missing submersible, the creator of the show has come forward to give people an insight on the same matter.
Mike Reiss, a writer and former showrunner of The Simpsons sat down with BBC Breakfast on June 19. In this conversation, the creator shed light on his Titanic rescue mission. He said that this exploration is not coming to any conclusion and he doesn’t feel optimistic that they would be able to bring out the wreckage.

Since the writer has traveled down for three-time he knows that their search is like finding a rock in the big ocean. “If it’s down at the bottom, I don’t know how anyone is going to be able to access it, much less bring it back up,” he said as reported by Deadline. Moving forward he also revealed that during these trips, they almost lost connection to the land. Every time the 63-year-old stepped on the sub he knew he is risking his life.
However, his passion always kept him moving and these memories will remain with him forever. Well, it looks like the creator must have taken a look at his show before diving deep into the sea.
A look at how The Simpsons predicted Titanic
In one of the classic episodes of The Simpsons, Homer Simpson’s long-lost father is depicted as a sea treasurer. So after they both meet, Mason Fairbanks takes his son on one of his expeditions. In this episode, we see them exploring the ocean in a singular submarine. During this journey, they find two treasure boxes panning to a shipwrecked boat.

In this excitement, Homer loses his father and follows a luminous fish thinking it was him. Following this he gets stuck at the bottom panicking as the screen flashes oxygen-low light. With the episode coming to an end, viewers find him in a hospital waking up after three days in a coma.
