Ryan Reynolds is recognized for a myriad of things nowadays. And his reputation precedes his work. The actor has not just played great, widely versatile characters, but has also been equally successful in his business adventures. While the production process of Deadpool 3 is stuck mid-way owing to his participation in ongoing actors’ strikes, the Red Notice actor has kept busy with his stint in English football. Not only has Wrexham AFC climbed the ranks of league status after 15 dormant years, it even received the luxury treatment throughout its run with the Hollywood owners.

Despite the Free Guy actor foraying in many genres, he is popularly known for his successes in the Deadpool franchise. Since his acting debut in 1993, he ascended the ranks of elite actors through an accumulation of many lesser-known films. And one of them was a sci-fi thriller.

The 2015 sci-fi thriller, Self/Less, dived into the world of body-swapping while dealing with moral dilemmas and identity exploration. Reynolds played the role of a wealthy New York mogul who took his shot at immortality. The Free Guy actor was the younger version of Ben Kingsley, who takes his shot at the procedure after getting diagnosed with cancer. But the twist follows when the younger Damian Hale, Reynolds, starts experiencing hallucinations.

The film explored themes that have become highly popular. The self-exploration while living inside Mark’s life and navigating the implications of immortality set the film apart. Not only this, but the Deadpool actor conveyed deeper issues with technological advancements. He takes an ethically sound decision to dump his controller’s plans and gets started on a wilder action-packed trajectory.
