Ryan Reynolds, after spending years in the Hollywood industry as the high school sweetheart, came to be defined by his role as the Merc with a mouth. Quite the character development. While Deadpool is the actor’s most successful franchise, it is not popular just because of its R-rated superhero. Amidst the magic of Tim Miller and 20th Century Fox was the similarity that the main character had to Ryan Reynolds, which made the viewing experience almost meta and completely marvelous. However, the actor is taking a break from the R-rated business.

It was last year that the Deadpool actor announced that Wolverine will finally be joining him in Deadpool 3. But as fans wait with bated breaths for updates on the upcoming movie, Reynolds has announced something quite the contrary. The actor took to his very popular social media handles to announce Bedtime Stories with Ryan. This sounds like a far cry from the Merc with a mouth that we were all excitedly waiting for. However, there is more than what meets the eye.

Making sure to be in sync with the title, the Deadpool actor made the announcement in very comfortable-looking pajamas. And in case there were still doubts that Ryan Reynolds was announcing a Fubo show where he would read bedtime stories, the video was equipped with enough shots of the night sky and twinkling stars. The series is set to premiere on the 20th of June.

This comes as a surprise to fans who were metaphorically sweating as they watched the actor show up to Wrexham matches day after day. Especially after Shawn Levy hinted that his engagements were causing a delay in the filming of Deadpool 3. However, with this out-of-the-box announcement, Reynolds has once again left us questioning whether he has superhero abilities.

On the front, it looks like a simple children’s show. However, this is Ryan Reynolds at the helm of affairs. Therefore, as promised by the trailer, the actor will be reading out classic bedtime stories but with a twist. Much like how his successful action franchise, Deadpool, uses his personality to advantage, Bedtime Stories with Ryan will be doing the same.

It is a “retelling” of classic stories to cater to the newer generation. On the business front, the fifteen episodes show marks the first product of the Maximum Effort Channel and Fubo partnership. In any case, the presence of the actor guarantees that it will be enjoyable not just for children, but for all ages.
