Ryan Reynolds has a knack for reviving favorites from yesteryears. The renowned actor, famous for his roles in Deadpool and Free Guy, recently delivered on the challenge of transforming the fortunes of Wrexham AFC, a Welsh football club. Additionally, he surprised fans with the news of rebooting Biker Mice from Mars, a cult-like animated series that holds a special place, in the hearts of 90s kids. However, his latest shot is perhaps his most ambitious and unexpected yet. Reynolds is all set to breathe life into a timeless classic that has captivated generations of fans. 

Ryan Reynolds is all set to bring a beloved classic sitcom, none other than the 1986-debuted ALF. Remember the alien named Gordon Shumway who crash-landed on Earth and became part of the Tanner family? Well, Reynolds, who is 46 years old, will produce and star in the reboot of ALF. 

The production will be a joint venture between his production company, Maximum Effort, and Warner Bros. Television. It will seek to give a twist to the original storyline in order to fit well for the current times. In this updated version, ALF will face challenges, like social media, climate change, and online dating.

ALF has a characteristic humor and wit that is his staple. Ryan Reynolds as the leading role could not have been a better fit for the character. The actor’s wit, humor, comedic timing, and charm all hit the right boxes. Therefore, when it comes to starring in the production, the obvious choice for ALF would be none other than Reynolds himself.

However, with so many projects, is Reynolds probably over-stuffing himself creatively?

At the time of writing, Ryan Reynolds is juggling a lot of projects. The star recently starred in and won Emmy nominations for his documentary, Welcome to Wrexham. The series has been popular enough to be renewed for a second season that itself will land soon on Disney+. Furthermore, he has taken up additional duties at his venture companies, such as Mint Mobile and Aviation Gin. He recently also signed on to a stake for an F1 Alpine Team.

However, what is stressing fans out is that Ryan Reynolds’ most anticipated project is his Marvel Studios debut alongside Hugh Jackman in Deadpool 3. Although the movie has halted production for the time being due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes, the actor is not taking a day off. With so much on his plate, it remains to be seen how the master of wit balances it all together. After all, probably the fate of the Marvel Cinematic Universe now hinges on Deadpool 3.
