The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is teaming up with remarkable individuals. The enthusiasm among fans often soars when it comes to witnessing the likes of Thor, Hulk, and Spider-Man. It is these extraordinary beings that have made the MCU a source of escapism from the real world. However, it’s not always just these extraordinary creatures who fight and save the world. Lately, the MCU has been introducing a new facet by showcasing super-powered animals that aid the heroes in their missions.

Along the lines of Spider-Man and Loki, there are exciting updates regarding the highly anticipated Deadpool 3. The film is set to introduce a furry companion who will serve as a humorous counterpart to Deadpool himself.

Deadpool to have his furry counterpart for Deadpool 3

The introduction of animal characters in the MCU is not a new concept. Films like Spider-Man, featuring characters like Spider-Ham or Peter Porker, and the appearance of Alligator Loki, have already explored animal interventions. Now, the highly anticipated Deadpool has embraced this concept as well. As per Deadpool Updates, Deadpool 3 will feature a furry counterpart to Deadpool known as Dogpool. The 2016 installment of the movie subtly referenced Dogpool, who in the comics leads a group called the ‘Deadpool Corps.’

As Deadpool fights Wolverine as per the recent leaks, Dogpool may enter the realm. Wade Wilson, while traversing through different universes, may unexpectedly encounter his furry counterpart from Earth-20110. The multiverse arc of the movie, being part of the MCU, has provided an opportunity for the live-action debut of this comic book character. In an alternate universe, this Deadpool doppelgänger was originally an ordinary dog. However, after undergoing experiments involving Mascara X, he acquired reformative powers similar to Deadpool.

As already talked about before, the concept of animal counterparts is not new to the world of MCU. These adorable animals have been taking part in the MCU for a long time now.

Animal counterparts of Marvel characters

Ever since MCU introduced the multiverse arc, fans have witnessed the animal variants of their beloved characters. For instance, Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse introduced an animal parody version in the form of a pig named Peter Porker, also known as Spider-Ham of Earth-8311.

Loki, too, had its notable animal interventions. Throg, voiced by actor Chris Hemsworth himself, made an appearance, adding an intriguing element to the series. Another delightful animal intervention in Loki was the Asgardian God of Mischief’s Alligator Loki. It won the hearts of viewers and made his appearance truly memorable. Not only this, animal characters like Cosmo from GOTG or Goose from Captain Marvel are MCU’s very own furry friends. With Dogpool coming in, the list is sure to expand.
