Ryan Reynolds and his Hollywood buddy, Rob McElhenney, have been making the Welsh club reach different milestones. Since they acquired the club in 2020, they have played the real-life Ted Lasso in achieving success for their team. Be it encouraging more investments to up-scaling their stadium or pulling their team forward to a promotion, the Aviation Gin promoter has a knack for pushing organizations forward.

The first season of Welcome to Wrexham was a roaring success. And soon after, they decided to start shooting for the second season. And lo-and-behold, the football club is nominated for another award. Hollywood Critics Award reported that the docuseries has been nominated for ‘Best Cable Reality or Competition Series’ by the 2023 HCA TV Awards. Among the 8 nominees, Welcome to Wrexham is the only sports-themed frontrunner.
