And as Deadpool 3 sees a halt in its shooting because of the SAG-AFTRA strike, the actor has named a spot in his schedule as well, for a well-known Serbian friend, Novak Djokovic, as he made his way to Wimbledon stadium.

One likes to swing his claws while the other likes to swing his racket, both Hugh Jackman and Novak Djokovic, in the realm of high-profile friendships make for quite an interesting pair. But if you take into account the jugular grip that tennis and Wimbledon, in particular, have on him, it all makes sense.

In 2017, Hugh Jackman stepped onto his local tennis court with a racket in hand, and a spark of playful rivalry in his eyes, as he challenged the greatest player known to the tennis world, second only now to Carlos Alcaraz, for a match. Surprisingly, Djokovic was up for the offer. But only at one cost: Hugh Jackman should keep his claws out of the court. Therefore, years later, as he takes off his claws in favor of better rights for artists, the actor made his way to Wimbledon to watch Novak Djokovic go head-to-head with Jannik Sinner in the semi-final.

The Deadpool 3 star was dressed smartly in a navy blue co-ord. But there is only so much attention one can pay to his outfit when he is sporting the iconic Wolverine beard. Given that he is an aficionado of tennis, a Wimbledon visit is not out of the ordinary. However, Jackman made sure to let fans know that he will be pumping his fist in the air only when Novak Djokovic swings his racket to score.

Given how the Deadpool 3 actor has been posting about the World No.2, it is unclear at what point they became friends. But whenever it was, it only made their bond stronger. So much so, that if Blake Lively’s assumptions about Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are correct, then Reynolds would probably be sulking somewhere.

Much like his equation with Reynolds, Djokovic, and Jackman also like to pull each other’s leg by imitating one another. For the 54-year-old actor, it is a hearty attempt at the tennis champion’s iconic hand swing while for Djokovic it is the Wolverine claw slash.
