One of the most mystical elements of cinema is how the same person can get reincarnated into a character that does not resemble a shred of themselves. And a genre of cinema that puts this element to the best use is that of action. It has seen Arnold Schwarzenegger play a sword hero from the Hyborian age in Conan the Barbarian and then a cyborg assassin from 2029 in The Terminator. Akin to how Henry Cavill plays an assassin in one, and a soldier in Sand Castle. The former is regarded by many as the greatest of the action genre, while the latter is envisioned as the greatest to be. But these two opposite ends of the poles are united by their love for the reigning king of the action genre: Tom Cruise.

Henry Cavill made his admiration for Tom Cruise clear during the promotion of Mission: Impossible- Fallout. However, it was only recently, as Arnold Schwarzenegger promoted FUBAR, that fans were enlightened by his admiration for Tom Cruise.

The seven times Mr. Olympia winner has blessed the world with yet another action maestro in the form of his Netflix series. FUBAR finds the actor at his absolute best playing a CIA agent along with his on-screen daughter. Said on-screen daughter is played by Tom Cruise’s Top Gun co-star Monica Barbaro. This fortunately allowed fans to know how different the two action virtuosos are at work. And also what Schwarzenegger thinks of Tom Cruise. In an interview with Extra, the Austrian Oak called 60-year-old Tom Cruise a “young kid.”

The irony of the statement did not escape Arnold Schwarzenegger, as he began to cackle soon after. Even Barbaro, who was seated next to him, approved his statement as she said, “he looks thirty.

This compliment by one of the most respected pioneers of the action genre reminded fans of Henry Cavill. And how amazed the actor was at every point of the Mission: Impossible- Fallout shooting, so much so that he called him a “superhuman.”

Tom Cruise serving as the thread of connection between Henry Cavill and Schwarzenegger has made us wonder what has been stopping directors from casting them together. Furthermore, this coming together of the three musketeers of Hollywood has understandably made fans go feral.

Fans react to the Austrian Oak gushing over Tom Cruise

Looking at Tom Cruise, jumping from tall buildings and climbing the top of Burj Khalifa gives the impression that the actor must be in his 20s. And this combined with the fact that he has found the fountain of youth, does make fans do a recheck when his age is revealed to be 60.

Schwarzenegger himself, being a 75-year-old, does not adhere to any norms that are set by 75-year-olds around the world. Therefore, fans find his calling Cruise a “young kid” all the more hilarious.

Some fans further took Schwarzenegger’s comments up by a notch by labeling Cruise a “baby“. And to prove their case, they attached clips of the Mission Impossible actor excitedly acting like a kid. But looks like 30 years off his age was not enough, as some even corrected Barbaro for saying he looks around thirty years old. All in all, Arnold Schwarzenegger is not too bothered by handing the wheel for the action genre over to Tom Cruise.
