In a recent Instagram story, Ryan Reynolds shared a fun fact about his $1.5 Billion business, Mint Mobile. The Proposal actor shared a grey screen to his followers on which he wrote using the create mode, “Mint Mobile received an 8 minute standing ovation in Venice.” While no further context was given by him, given his wit and sense of humor, it is easy to guess that his story was referring to all the films, actors, and directors who had received standing ovations at the film festival.

But that was not all. Directors like Woody Allen and Roman Polanski also made their way to the festival with their films. Polanski’s The Palace also received a standing ovation from its audience. In total, around fourteen different films got standing ovations and amazing reviews. Many creators were emotional because of the praise, but some, like David Fincher, whose The Killer got a 5-minute ovation, were confused.
