We often become what we think about,” said Earl Nightingale, and Quentin Tarantino took it seriously. The Movie Critic director who is about to bid farewell to the Hollywood Industry has quite taken the role of his latest work. Known as the movie maestro of Hollywood, the Tennessee talent has not grown white hairs in 40 years of cinema for nothing. Manifesting the same, the eminent director went critiquing the present state of some movies and their future. Although it was highly uncalled for, his statements came as a major flag for the Deadpool star, Ryan Reynolds

Reynold’s mutant saga of his cutting-edge superhero has forever continued to provide his audience with a full package of entertainment extravaganza. However, it was seemingly not tempting enough for the two-time Oscar winner to bite. Speaking to Deadline in his latest interview, the director revealed how his departure from feature films stemmed from the “drastic change in the movie industry.”

In the course of the interview, Tarantino voices his opinions against movies on streaming and OTT platforms. He evidently finds such movies diminishing, for they yield insignificant returns. “I mean, what is a motion picture anyway anymore?” asked the director, in a state of resentment. Because if it is something they show on Apple, “that would be diminishing returns,” affirmed the Kill Bill director. Adding further about how such movies are not worth it, the star said, “Movies made for streaming aren’t recognizable.”

The Once Upon A Time in Hollywood mastermind obviously has no one to pick up at. He admitted he cannot be so negative about it and blamed the pandemic for hurrying things up. However, he could not help but point at Ryan Reynolds‘ movies to narrate an example.

Quentin Tarantino never recognized Ryan Reynolds’ works

As he spoke of the lesser recognition at the streaming sites, the star went on for a quick fact check on the Deadpool star. “Apparently, Ryan Reynolds has made $50 million in this movie and $50 million in that movie and $50 million in the next movie for them,” mocked the director. In fact, he does not even know what any of those movies are. “I’ve never seen them. Have you?” asked Quentin Tarantino, putting a glaring question mark on the works of Ryan Reynolds, although the former had always looked up to him.

This is not the first time the director has been honest about movies of the newer era. According to him, such movies that break charts on streaming sites “do not exist in the zeitgeist.”It’s almost likely they don’t even exist,” added the 60-year-old director.

The brilliant talent of Hollywood has some glorious movies that add charm to his name. A handful of them are Django Unchained, Inglourious Basterds, Pulp Fiction, and the Kill Bill movie franchise. His upcoming and final movie as a filmmaker, The Movie Critic, is due next year.
