The Witcher season 2 is here with yet another short teaser, this time showing us Geralt of Rivia rather than Ciri.
The Witcher is a Netflix Original fantastic drama series that’s based on the novel series of the same name written by Andrzej Sapkowski. The novels were adapted into games, which proved to be insanely successful. After that, Netflix decided to make a series of The Witcher. Even though gamers were cynical of this idea first, the streaming platform managed to pull it off. The Witcher is a highly popular series now, both among the gamers and the general audience.
Netflix released the first season of The Witcher on the platform at the end of 2019. We’ve been waiting for the second season since then, and we’re getting closer to it every day. As this is the case, the crew gives us more videos and photos from the new season each day. For example, they released a teaser for Ciri in the Geeked Week event. It was a rather short one but included many various scenes. They released another teaser just like the earlier one, but it’s about Geralt of Rivia this time.
The Witcher season 2 new Geralt teaser
In the scenes shown to us in the new teaser, we see Geralt getting ready for fights, which is obvious. We also see someone whose hands are tied with chains, and it might be Yennefer, given the earlier photos from the new season. Geralt is getting ready to go in the tub, too, which confirms that more of the iconic tub scenes of Cavill’s Geralt is underway.

What is the release date of The Witcher season 2?
We know the new season of The Witcher is going to be on Netflix in Q4 2021. Netflix’s co-CEO and chief content officer Ted Sarandos announced that in an investor meeting alongside some other prominent series. We do not know exactly when they’re going to release it, but we have some assumptions.
Netflix’s schedule for Q4 2021 is quite full, and they would want to give each series time to be celebrated on their own. They’re going to release Money Heist season 5, You season 3, and Cobra Kai season 4. This means they’d want to put some intervals between those popular installments.
We know that Netflix usually announces the release dates of the new series with their official trailers. And when the time comes for the trailers, we’re not usually much far away from the actual release. As Netflix is going to hold the Witchercon event on July 9-10, we can expect to see the official trailer for The Witcher season 2 there. We’d be still far away from Q4 2021, so they can give us an October 2021 release date.
The only thing we’re sure of right now is the Q4 2021 release date. However, you can expect Netflix to give us the new season as early as possible. Let’s hope this is true.
