Bridgerton made a star out of Phoebe Dynevor and Rege-Jean Page when they starred in season 1. And the show did the same for the British Indian actress, Charithra Chandran. The girl played the other Sharma sister, Edwina who had already dreamt of becoming a viscountess. But an unlikely romance brewed between her sister, Kate, and Anthony. While the second season of the regency drama was quite tame compared to the first, Kate and Anthony’s scenes were just fire. However, there was hardly any intimacy between the Bridgerton lad and the “diamond of the season”. The actress breaks down her relationship with the viscount. 

Edwina and Anthony lacked the burning chemistry 

Edwina and Anthony did make a nice pair, but they hardly showed any physical intimacy even during their courtship. Charithra Chandran explained, 

“Edwina and Anthony are all about what’s on paper. They are perfect for each other by society’s standards. But what Kate and Anthony had was a burning love, passion, and romance.” 

The pair would have probably gotten married in an alternate universe though.  

Will Charithra Chandran appear as Edwina Sharma in Bridgerton season 3?

Fresh-faced Charithra was a delight to watch on screen. Her character bloomed beautifully in the course of the season. And fans are eager to have her in the next season as well. The actress doesn’t know yet what the creators have planned for her character. But since Edwina is a part of expanding Bridgonverse, she will definitely appear in the coming season. 

Season 3 will shift the focus from Anthony and the Sharma sisters to longtime friends, Penelope and Colin. The creators are skipping Benedict’s story in the third book to develop Colin’s story. Nicola Coughlan, who plays Penelope Featherington on the show, revealed she was “terrified”. She was in on this little secret two weeks into filming.
