The Shining

Adapted from the Stephen King novel of the same name, The Shining is about Jack. The middle-aged man moves into an isolated hotel with his family and begins losing his sanity due to the isolation. The cast includes Jack Nicholson, Shelly Duvall, Danny Lloyd and Joe Turkel.

Doctor Sleep

Another movie that shares its title with a novel of the same name, Doctor Sleep is about Danny Torrance. While trying to overcome his traumatic past, Torrance finds a little girl who shares with him the gift of “the shine”. The movie recounts Torrence’s quest to save the girl from a bloodthirsty cult. The 2019 film includes Ewan McGregor and Rebecca Ferguson in the lead roles.
