Netflix Vegan Queen has some complaints about the streaming giant. It looks like the show, Bad Vegan, did not satisfy Sarma Melngailis with how it is mocking her for psychological abuse. She claimed her ex-husband, Anthony Strangis, psychologically harassed her. He also manipulated her to run away with the money from her restaurant.

After the release of Bad Vegan: Fame. Fraud. Fugitives., we have learned a lot of things about Melngailis, which she claimed to be right or wrong.

Sarma Melngailis is a celebrity vegan restaurant owner of hot spot Pure Food and Wine in the heart of New York City. She and her restaurant were doing more than fine until she met Anthony Strangis, who claimed that he will help Sarma and her dog, Leon, to become immortal. In 2015, they ran away with nearly $2 million from the restaurant. At last, after hiding for several days, the police arrested the couple from Dominos while ordering pizza.

Sarma Melngailis took part in the documentary herself but isn’t happy with the streamer. On March 29th, 2022, she slammed the streamer by claiming that they were mocking her psychological abuse. She explains in her post, “There are more important things going on in the world than the misrepresentation of *my* story, but I’ll continue to speak out in objection to the mocking of psychological abuse by Netflix and the mis-portrayal of these kinds of stories in general.”

She shared two photos of her- one of a Netflix promo of Bad Vegan showing her as a “glamorous villain,” and the other a selfie showing her with mascara smudged across her face. Melngailis expressed that Netflix has made her a glamorous villain to sensationalize the story, which is creating misunderstanding at a larger level. She accuses Strangis, her ex-husband of psychological abuse and manipulating her to believe that her pet dog will be immortal.

She confesses, “Everything is gone—the restaurant, the brand, my home, my work, my employees, my customers, even all my things: clothes, papers, files, photos, everything. Also, my integrity. And scariest of all for me: my independence.”

At last, we can conclude that she claimed that Bad Vegan by Netflix is extremely misleading and she is not in touch with her ex-husband, Anthony Strangis.
