Florence Pugh is being cast in yet another masterpiece The Wonder on Netflix. After once again reminding everyone of her brilliance in Don’t Worry Darling, Pugh will now be starring in a period flick. This marks the return of the actress to Netflix after Outlaw King. Fun fact: the movie is set up in the 19th century and revolves around the real events of history.
In the Victorian era, adolescent girls used to claim that they can survive long periods of time without any nourishment whatsoever. And that they were chosen by God. While the movie isn’t supernatural it is Florence Pugh’s journey to discovering The Wonder.

What is The Wonder about?
The period drama flick has already won hearts after being premiered at the Telluride Fim Festival. Additionally, it is being directed by Sebastian Lelio who is widely applauded for his brilliant work in A Fantastic Woman and Disobedience.
Just like the cherry on top of a cake, the screenplay will be written by Academy Award-winning writer, Emma Donoghue. Moreover, the movie is also based on a book titled The Wonder written by Emma Donoghue. The fact that Donoghue is a historian herself and has proved earlier that she is a master at thrillers guarantees the movie is going to be brilliant.
The plot of the movie follows Florence Pugh who has kept down her doctor coat and will be playing a nurse in the 19th century. She plays Lib Wright, an English Nightingale Nurse, who is called to witness The Wonder of a young girl in Ireland.
She is instructed to stay there for two weeks on eight hours shift. Furthermore, she is restricted from questioning. The task becomes impossible when she meets Anna played by Kila Lord Cassidy who claims she hasn’t eaten in four months. The quest to discover if Anna is actually a wonder is what the movie will entail.
