If there is something that Zack Synder does well apart from making totally great films is to assemble a cast of equally impressive actors. Just look at his movies like Army of Dead or 300. They all have a great cast that really drives the film to a better viewing experience. And Zack Synder has a new movie in production Rebel Moon.

The cast of the film was already looking to be full of all-stars. But just a few hours ago four new actors were added to the cast. And we must say the film is turning out to be one of Zack’s finest.

Zack Synder adds new actors to the Rebel Moon cast

Rebel Moon already had a great cast, including Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, Doona Bae, Ray Fisher, Rupert Friend, and Stuart Martin. Things were already looking promising after the film’s concept art was also released. But now, with new additions, the film has become the most anticipated project for 2022.

Cary Elwes and Corey Stoll, Dutch actor Michiel Huisman and Mexican thespian Alfonso Herrera are joining the cast. Elwes will portray the cosmic empire’s monarch. No other revelation about the remaining actors was made.

Elwes is a senior actor who appeared in the classic film The Princess Bride and starred in the first Saw film. He’s having a career rebirth, having just joined the Mission: Impossible franchise, returning from an arc in the previous Stranger Things season, and wrapping a role alongside Jason Statham in Guy Ritchie’s newest, Operation Fortitude.

While Huisman was in HBO Max’s The Flight Attendant. And Stoll has some popular movies under his belt. Last year he was seen in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story.

What do we know about the movie so far?

The film is about a peaceful colony on the border of the galaxy that is attacked by the forces of a tyrant regent named Belisarius. Desperate, the colonists send Boutella’s character, a young lady with a strange history, to find warriors from other worlds to assist them in making a stand.

The shoot will extend until November, with the intention of splitting the film into two epic features. There might be several spinoffs on Netflix if all goes well.
