Hounsou has starred in many acclaimed projects like Blood diamond and Amistad but his resume also shows his foray into the comic book world as he acted in Guardians of the galaxy and Shazam! Ray Fisher last starred in Justice League. This will be the second time that the two will work together on a project again. People will recognize Doona Bae, the South Korean actress, from her roles in Sense 8, Kingdom, and Silent Sea.
Apart from unveiling the cast, he also revealed some concept art photos.
Is Rebel Moon Star wars?
Zack originally intended to pitch the Rebel Moon story as a part of the Star Wars Universe, but that was before Disney acquired Lucasfilm. He later bunked that idea and reworked the script while he was working for Netflix’s Army of the dead.
He plans to make a franchise out of the series just like Army of the dead.
The movie is set in a colony in a distant space that is facing threats from outside forces. To fend off the imminent threat, a woman is sent on a mission to recruit the help of the neighboring colonies.
Netflix has obtained exclusive rights over Rebel Moon after Zack signed a first-look deal with Netflix. It is co-written by Zack, Shay Hatten, and Kurt Johnstad and will be produced by his production company, The Stone Quarry. Inspired by Star Wars and Akira Kurosawa, Zack penned down a story that involved intrigue and adventure.
Rebel Moon is still in pre-production and will probably start shooting at the end of the year.
