Netflix subscribers have been waiting for the third season of You, which has been a sensation since its first release on Lifetime in 2018. The series is based on a 2014 novel of the same name by Caroline Kepnes. The story tells of an obsessive bookstore manager, who is also a serial killer, falling in love with a customer. That love is unfortunately extremely toxic and delusional, though. The series was first released on Lifetime in 2018. However, Netflix picked up the popular drama in 2019 and released it on the popular streaming platform. You became much more popular after Netflix‘s series.

There are currently two seasons of You on Netflix. The fans are waiting for You season 3, and we shared everything we currently know about the season.

Netflix renewed You for a third season in January 2020, so yeah, expect the third season on the streaming platform.

Unfortunately, You season 3 was affected by the pandemic just like every major production in the industry. Even though it was hard for the crew, they managed to wrap up the shooting process with zero cases. The showrunner Sera Gamble earlier explained the efforts they made in order to maintain a smooth process of filming for You season 3.

Just like the earlier seasons, You season 3 is going to feature 10 episodes.

Those episodes are going to be “fucking bonkers” according to the showrunner Sara Gamble, who spoke about the crew’s successful attempts to shoot the season on Twitter.

As you might already know, the first two seasons of You were based on the first two novels by Kepnes, namely, You and Hidden Bodies. Naturally, we expect the third season to be adapted from the third novel, titled You Love Me. It is important to mention that they are not exact imitations, and Netflix loosely adapts the books to the series.

Victoria Pedretti and Penn Badgley are going to be back as Love Quinn and Joe Goldberg in the third season of You.

Scott Speedman is a new addition to the cast, who’s going to play Matthew in You season 3. Matthew is a successful CEO, husband, and uncommunicative father according to Netflix.

Scott Michael Foster is also going to be in the cast for the third season of You. He’s going to play Ryan, who is a local TV reporter.

Shannon Chan-Kent will play Kiki, who is a devoted member of Sherry’s cliquish friend group.

Chris O’Shea will be Andrew, an adoring member of Sherry’s inner circle.

We will see Christopher Sean as Brandon, who is the husband of Kiki. Brandon became rich early in his life, and he now spends time with his children at home.

Ben Mehl is going to portray Dante, a librarian who always stays calm and cold equanimity regardless of what happens.

Mackenzie Astin is going to play Gil. Gil is a mild geology professor who is thoughtful, friendly, and genuinely good-hearted despite being a bit vanilla and naive.

Jack Fisher is going to play as Young Joe Goldberg. We will see him in some flashbacks where Joe was bullied back in the day.
