What is happening in the Gilded Age?

The series comes from Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes and this simply proves it is yet another amazing period drama. It represents the American spirit; highlighting the mobility within the American society. It takes us into the late 1890s’ New York city we knew little about. There’s a storyline about race, sexuality, class distinction, and everything of that sort.

The show depicts the life of Louis Jacobson’s Mariam Brook, who recently moved in with her wealthy aunt after her father’s death. It also follows the story of Peggy’s struggle as a black woman in the late 1800s. Moreover, it shows the progress Peggy and her generation are making. Besides focusing on these young women, new to the city, and trying to find their way in life and society, the other major focus is on Russells. George Russell is a fictional railroad magnate with thick money. He and his wife, who have made their fortune, try to gain access to the business world of New York city but nobody wants lets them in. Seemingly, the old guard doesn’t want the new rich.

Is Guilded Age available on Netflix?

If you are a subscriber of Netflix, we are about to shatter your hopes. The Guilded Age is NOT available on this streaming platform yet. Further, there is no news when and if it will be available on Netflix. It is also not available on Amazon Prime or Hulu. However, to find out if Mariam gives her into the established rule of society or follows her own path, you CAN stream it on HBO max or watch it live on the HBO channel.
