There might have been a few controversies surrounding the life of Will Smith, but that hasn’t stopped him from being one of the outstanding actors of all time. From Men in Black, The Pursuit of Happyness to the Oscar-nominated King Richard. Smith always aims for our hearts when he is on screen.

Many of his movies have also resulted from dystopian drama. And guess he already knew about a deadly virus causing the world to suffer great misery for over 3 years. His 2007 movie, I Am Legend, is one such in the trope of cautionary tales. A fantastic combination of allure, wonder, and the popular sci-fi genre; it is the fourth highest-grossing movie in Will Smith’s career. Wait, why are we telling you all this again? I Am Legend- synopsis

Apparently, the movie follows a brilliant scientist, Robert Neville aka Will Smith. He is immune to the virus that has otherwise wiped out most of humanity. He is among the few New Yorkers who have survived the deadly attack. Immune to the virus, Smith works to develop a cure while defending himself from the micro devil.

Did you know it was not entirely a flowery experience for Smith to make the movie? However, he seemed to enjoy it for sure.

In a press conference back in 2007, Smith confessed how they shut down six blocks of the fifth avenue in the city on a Monday morning for their shoot. It sure was a result of poor management, but it created the much-needed eerie environment for the movie. Smith then says that people swore a lot on his name and that he felt F-U was his name.

“Shooting in New York, especially something on this level, is difficult. I would say, percentage-wise, it’s the most amount of middle fingers I have received in my career,” he said. “I’m used to people liking me, it’s like fun. Middle fingers, I was starting to think F-U was my name.
