What is better than an amazing continuation of the journey one started several years ago? We are talking about the journey that started with The Karate Kid films in the 80s, which continued with the spin-off show, Cobra Kai. The continuation was possible only because the films did not get a perfect and concrete conclusion. However, with the upcoming final season of the spin-off itself, can it provide a fitting ending to the iconic saga?

The spin-off show began several years after where the movie left the stories of the characters. The continuation of their story is now about to take a huge turn toward the final conclusion. Meanwhile, there is a hope to wrap the stories that started from the movie as well. As ScreenRant suggested, the sixth season of Cobra Kai is set to provide the perfect ending to The Karate Kid movies.

The last season of the series will have a global karate tournament, Sekai Taikai. Keeping all the rivalries and drama aside, both movies and the series, always come to this one point: face-off. Therefore, the final season can complete the stories of all the characters.

For instance, the rivalry between Daniel LaRusso and Terry Silver needs to finish, which began in the movies. Moreover, the relationship between Chozen and LaRusso also took a new turn in the previous season. Therefore, it also needs a proper conclusion. And one of the most important things that started this entire spin-off series is the rivalry between Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence. Hopefully, the show would put an end to their drama, allowing them to co-exist peacefully.

If we look closely, none of The Karate Kid movies had a proper ending. That is one reason there are a lot of chunks unexplored in the original plot. And that ultimately provided the material for the development of the series.

How the endings of The Karate Kid movies inspired the creation of Cobra Kai?

The first Karate Kid movie saw LaRusso winning the All-Valley tournament. The second movie, the film, began with the victory of LaRusso itself. However, the movie showcased the aftermath of the tournament as well, which inspired the beginning of the third movie. The third movie in sequence did not see the proper ending which it should have, with the saga getting a satisfying end.

Instead, the movie left some room for the continuation of the story, which provided the base for Cobra Kai’s plot. Now that we have the final season on the way, hopefully, we can get a satisfying conclusion about the iconic movies. Although there is a risk of the series’ ending could also go wrong as there have been talks about Sony’s reboot of The Karate Kid saga as well. However, despite the possible upcoming projects, the final season can still end the iconic movie series.
