The Last Kingdom renewed for season 5 at Netflix. The streaming platform today confirms that fifth season announcement video on its social media accounts.

This is the highly-anticipated historical-fiction drama. The series also based on “The Saxon Stories” by author Bernard Cornwell. We already watch season 4 on April 26th, 2020. After the success of fourth season fans waiting for season 5. Also, season 5 will consist of 10 episodes, like the previous seasons. However, the drama series was once a co-production between the British broadcaster BBC and Netflix. But after the third season Netflix pick-up the rights and turns Netflix Original.

Now, there’s officially renewed for The Last Kingdom’s upcoming season. On the official The Last Kingdom twitter account, a few cast members announced the renewal status “It’s so good to know we’re good to go. All aboard the party bus! #Season5 #TheLastKingdom” in a video below.

Here’s the description for this drama series:

“The setting is a historical one of England roughly around 800-900 A.D. The conflict involves the Vikings who are eager to take more ground and the native English peoples or more correctly the Saxons who desire to hold the ground they have and repel the Vikings from England. The main protagonist is a fictional character although his birthplace and enemies who contest him; Ubba (Ubbe Lothbrok) and Guthrum are real figures.”
