Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s marriage seems to be straight out of a rom-com. From spontaneous antics to competing over social media captions, their love is a never-ending game of improv. They are one of the most-awaited couples on the red carpet owing to Lively’s flair for fashion and the Deadpool actor’s humor. Considered Hollywood’s favorite love birds, they have a quirky way of making their fans believe in fairy tale endings. However, the same cannot be said about Reynolds’ previous marriage.

Fans of the 46-year-old often forget that he was once married to Scarlett Johansson. Although short-lived, the former couple’s relationship did not seem to end in grudges. Recently on a podcast, the American actress even complimented her ex-husband, calling him a “good guy“. In 2008, only after a year of being together, she and the Red Notice actor had secretly tied the knot. The ceremony was very private as the Black Widow actress once revealed “It was a very remote part of Canada…there were bears and whales and eagles.”

Imagine their surprise when one of the wedding gifts they received fit in perfectly with their foresty venue. Because one special celebrity guest had blessed their marriage with none other than a Marvel co-star.

In an interview with Vulture, Samuel L. Jackson reveals how his Marvel co-star, Scarlett Johansson, was always talking about nature. Tapping into her affinity for the same, the Goodfellas actor decided to surprise the newlyweds with 10 pounds of bees. He reveals how he even went the extra mile and got bee suits to go with the hive. Not only did the couple welcome the unusual gift, they even kept it for a while.

At some point, something went amiss with the hive, and because of this, the couple abandoned the bee project. But Jackson seems more than satisfied with the turn-out of his present saying, “They got honey for a couple of years while they were married.”

Now that is a truly ‘sweet’ gift! The gesture must have meant a lot to the Free Guy actor, considering how close a bond they went on to form in the coming years.

In the same interview, the 74-year-old reveals how his main motivation for taking on The Hitman’s Bodyguard was the desire to work alongside Ryan Reynolds. He goes on to say that the father of three is “just an enormous amount of fun to be with.” He knew even then that if he and Reynolds were to team up on-screen, the audience would likely find it immensely entertaining.

Thinking back on his time working on the project with the Deadpool actor, he even claims that their input changed the tone of that material for the better. For audiences, the duo’s chemistry was indeed the highlight of the action comedy, turning the movie into a massive success. Reynolds may have parted ways with Scarlett Johansson in 2010, but his relationship with the man that gifted him the beehive at his wedding is still going strong.
