In the series of episodes called ‘Case Closed with Bailey Sarian’, Bailey properly analyses the murder mystery in question. Then gives reasons with factual evidence and concludes if it was a murder, a suicide, or an accident. She was watching the documentary and expressing her views, all while candidly putting on makeup. There couldn’t have been a better makeup tutorial.

Pointing to the hype around Marilyn’s death, Bailey says, “I think people get really invested in celebrity deaths because money, fame, fortune, you have it all, how does someone die?” She watches the documentary till the end before revealing what she thinks happened to Marilyn. According to Sarian, Marilyn had fallen prey to loneliness. Her boyfriend had nothing to do with her and she was being pulled in every direction by a lot of people. She had a bad relationship problem and a history of addiction, that caused her to take her own life. “She was like Britney, before Britney“, and “a disaster waiting to happen“, says Sarian. Sarian thinks speculations about her death being a murder were obvious, given her rumored secret relationship with the president of the United States. But they were only speculations, without any truth.

The several reasons leading to Monroe’s death

Marilyn had a troubled end, but an even more troubled childhood. She was born to a poor mother at a hospital in LA. An unknown father and a sickly mother forced her to live in foster care. She spent most of her childhood in ten foster homes, making her hungry for love and attention. All the fame, money, and beauty couldn’t satiate her as she was seeking love from men. The men she liked, took advantage of her. Only a week before her death, she had gone to rehab for her sleeping pills addiction. Her rumored affair with president John.F. Kennedy put her in a spot she couldn’t escape. And according to the documentary, was the beginning of her end.

In the Netflix series, The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe: The Unheard Tapes, they analyze Marilyn’s death once again with the tapes they procured from Marilyn’s psychiatrist decades later. What do you think happened to Marilyn?
