The eight-episode-long intriguing docuseries is directed by the Award-winning American director Chris Smith. And Anthony Summers, Goncalo Amaral, and Robbyn Swan play leading roles in the series.

Sticking close to the narrative followed by the media during the disappearance, the Netflix documentary does not shy away from showing the truth of the matter. The only clear facts in the case are that little Madeleine Mccann disappeared from an Algarve holiday apartment that is located at the seaside resort of Praia da Luz in Portugal. With the pretext of checking on their kids every few minutes, the parents enjoyed a meal with their friends just 100 yards away. However, Madeleine was not the only toddler in the room.

Sean and Amelie, two-year-old twins, were also in the apartment when she went missing. The Netflix documentary highlights how the investigation was compromised from the very start. How the police were under immense pressure because of the media being actively involved in the case. But most importantly, it showed how the McCann parents faced immense backlash.
