The producers of Netflix‘s popular series Dark had been preparing to make an ambitious comeback with their new series Tribes of Europa. And the new anticipated German sci-fi series finally arrived on Netflix today. Tribes of Europa invites us to a dystopian future, so let’s take a look before starting to watch it first to have an opinion on whether will it interest you or not.

Quirin Berg and Max Wiedemann, the producers of Dark, also undertake this series producing. Philip Koch is the creator of the upcoming sci-fi series along with co-writing the series with Jana Burbach and Benjamin Seiler. When we look at the atmosphere that the trailer provides us, we see an environment and color palette close to Dark. So it wouldn’t be wrong if we say that Germany’s dense forest cover has done its duty in terms of cinematography, again. However, Tribes of Europa gives the impression that it will focus on action rather than a dark dystopia like Dark did. It seems we will be focusing on the contention of the 4 groups rather than mystery.

“Set in 2074, three siblings set out to change the fate of Europe after a global catastrophe causes Europe to fracture into dystopian warring tribal micro-states who vie for dominance over the other states. Three siblings get caught up in the conflict when they come into possession of a mysterious cube.”

The first season includes six episodes. The story follows destroyed European states which are also divided into tribes with different missions after. Three brothers are at the center of the story as the main protagonists. They try to change the new course of Europe after the post-apocalyptic turn, amidst the power struggle between tribes. These 3 siblings belong to the Origine tribe of these 4 tribes.

Kiano seems to be the one who has the most interesting storyline above the three of them. Kiano drifts at the center of Europa, Brahtok(new Berlin) after his capturing. So he discovers a wholly different alternative/futuristic lifestyle in the city. I think the series could have been much more gripping and interesting. But still, it seems fair enough for the ones looking for a classic sci-fi/post-apocalyptic series. It’s not bad but it doesn’t also seem to have a well-crafted storyline as its other same genre series like The 100, The Rain, or other sci-fi series on Netflix.
