What do we know about Blood Origin? And where we will dive into the deep of The Witcher?

As the name suggests, The Witcher: Blood Origin will tell us stories about The Witcher‘s origin.

Netflix reported that Blood Origin will take place about 1200 years before the main series. Instead of focusing on the characters that fans know and love, Blood Origin will serve us Witcher lore: the conjunction of the spheres, a magical event that caused the worlds of elves, monsters, and humans to inextricably merge with one another.

Here’s the official synopsis: “In an elven world 1,200 years before Geralt of Rivia, the worlds of monsters, men and elves merge to become one and the very first Witcher arises.”

Netflix announced the mini-series in July 2020 but has not yet announced a release date.

However, considering that Netflix‘s The Witcher series will arrive in 2021, Blood Origin will most likely be released in 2022.

Unfortunately, we don’t have any information on the cast of Blood Origin yet. However, if we look at the history of the series, there will be many Elven characters. Elves began colonizing the Continent about 2,500 years before the arrival of humans, so we should expect many Elven characters living in a solidly established society.
