The release date of the upcoming anime film The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf was announced by Netflix at WitcherCon.
WitcherCon has made The Witcher audience some of the happiest fans in the world. The online event about the series, games and the books of The Witcher has revealed the release dates and also announced new content for the franchise. In addition to The Witcher season 2 release date, the streaming giant revealed the premiere date of the anime film as well. The digital event was filled with lots of amazing teaser videos in order to excite the fans further for the long-awaited next season.
The streaming giant is keen on adding new content to expand the world of the Continent. In addition to the second season of the flagship series, we will also get to watch a prequel called The Witcher: Blood Origin. And thanks to the WitcherCon, the anime film is also in the works and slated to release this year. Here’s everything we know so far.

The anime series focusing on the old monster hunter Vesemir will be available to stream this year. The release date of The Witcher anime series is August 23, 2021.
There are some of the most brilliantly designed characters in the world of The Witcher. From the fearless monster hunters to the immensely powerful sorceresses, the fantastic universe of the Continent is filled with interesting characters with epic tales.
One of them is, of course, Geralt of Rivia‘s mentor Vesemir. He is the oldest monster hunter at the castle of Kaer Morhen. He is not only a teacher and a mentor to Geralt, but he is also a dear friend to our protagonist. So watching him in his youth as a restless witcher should be amazing. As of July 2021, we do not have any information about the actors and actresses that will be in the voice cast of the anime film. Though the leading voice actor for the film will be Kim Bodnia who also starred in Killing Eve in the role of Konstantin. Other than that, we can also note that the director of the anime movie is Kwang Il Han while Lauren Schmidt Hissrich serves as the executive producer. Along with Hissrich who is also the showrunner of the flagship series, Go Un Choi will be serving as a line producer to bring the anime film to the popular streaming service.
We have also learned the length of the anticipated anime movie. It will last about 1 hour and 21 minutes. Let’s also add that the studio behind the title has also worked on Legend of Korra before. So it will be a solid ride for sure.
