We now know another lead in The Witcher: Blood Origin, and he is no one other than Laurence O’Fuarain, who played Hakon in Vikings. Netflix is making a prequel to its popular The Witcher series.

Based on the games and the novels of the same name, The Witcher series starring Henry Cavill was a huge success for the streaming platform, and they announced The Witcher: Blood Origin, which is a prequel to the original series. The prequel will take place 1200 years before The Witcher, and will tell of the first Witcher, and the Conjunction of the Spheres, which is the event that led to monsters and humans living in the same world in The Witcher lore. To put it shortly, this new series will explain how the universe of The Witcher was born.

Laurence O’Fuarain will be playing the role of a warrior who was born into a clash of clans, Fjall. He has a scar deep within though, as he lost a loved one in a war, and this memory forever haunts him.

A prequel telling the story of the beginning of The Witcher universe, Blood Origin has some familiar faces in its crew. Declan de Barra is the executive producer and the showrunner of the production, while Lauren Schmidt Hissrich will be executive producing as well. Those two previously worked for the original series as well, so we know that something similar awaits us.
