The Witcher: Blood Origin Lead Star Seems To Be Leaving The Show
We have given you the news of The Witcher: Blood Origins has cast its first leading star back in January 2021. And there were also newcomers after her as well. But now it seems that one of the players of the anticipated mini-series is leaving the cast somehow.
Predictions around have been saying that Netflix was waiting to start on The Witcher: Blood Origin until after The Witcher Season 2 is finished. And we have been all waiting eagerly to reunite with the hit series and our heroes along with the new ones from the upcoming sequel for a long time. The mini-series Blood Origin was scheduled to begin filming at Arborfield Studios in the UK very soon. But before it even could start, it seems that production will be temporarily put on hold until a replacement because Jodie Turner-Smith quitting due to a scheduling conflict after the production start has been pushed slightly.
“Due to a change in the production schedule for The Witcher: Blood Origin limited series, unfortunately, Jodie Turner-Smith will no longer be able to continue on in the role of Éile.”

Jodie Turner-Smith was going to play Eile ‘The Lark’ Lithe. But now, it seems that the production has to be delayed again in order to find a replacement to play Éile. Turner-Smith was actually the first cast member announced for the upcoming mini-series and hopefully will be the last one to leave. Her old role Éile is a fierce warrior with the voice of a goddess and she is described as:
“An elite warrior blessed with the voice of a goddess, who has left her clan and position as Queen’s guardian to follow her heart as a nomadic musician. A grand reckoning on the continent forces her to return to the way of the blade in her quest for vengeance and redemption.”
The Witcher: Blood Origin was scheduled to start its production in May 2021 and wrap in September. But now that the series lost a leading star, it seems there will be another delay for filming to start, unfortunately. And it also seems impossible to say how long has the production been delayed considering there have been also rumors wandering around that there are other potentially significant changes. All Witcher productions might either start with Blood Origin or later with Season 3, as the rumors say. But there is nothing specific at this very moment as well.
