The Way of the HouseHusband has just aired on Netflix, but it already gathered a big fan group and acclaimed as well. So while all the fans are waiting eagerly for it to return for season 2, here is the good news and more detail of Netflix’s new anime series.

Netflix’s original anime series is produced by J.C.Staff and based on Kousuke Oono’s hit comedy same-named manga, The Way of the HouseHusband. It was first adapted into a live-action drama anime by Nippon TV back in 2020. It is directed by Chiaki Kon, with Susumu Yamakawa handling the series’ scripts. And now, Japan’s most evil yakuza came back to make the cutest househusband all over again as an original anime adaptation of Netflix following Tatsu’s journey from underworld legend to domestic bliss.

The anime series is about an infamous gangster as he handles the battles of the domestic household. Here is the official synopsis from the anime:

“Tatsu, an infamous and feared yakuza boss nicknamed “the Immortal Dragon”, retires from crime to become a househusband so that he can support Miku, his kyariaūman wife. The episodic series depicts a variety of comedic scenarios, typically wherein Tatsu’s banal domestic work as a househusband is juxtaposed against his intimidating personality and appearance, and his frequent run-ins with former yakuza associates and rivals.”

The Way of the Househusband‘s original net animation (ONA) anime series adaptation was first announced at the Netflix Anime Festival back on October 26th, 2020 and the series has just released on Netflix yesterday, on April 8th, 2021. And even if it has only been a day, most of the viewers and fans have binge-watched it and started to wait desperately for its upcoming season already. So, is there going to be a second season of Netflix’s new favorite anime?

And we are glad to say that, yes. Netflix has renewed The Way of the HouseHusband for its season 2. It has been announced via Twitter as many fans were already waiting for this to happen.

In the meantime, the original manga, which is adapted into this anime, is also currently ongoing, too. Its latest volume, the 7th one was published in March 2021, which means there will be much more material to be adapted in the future along with season 2.

Even if the upcoming season has been renewed quickly, there isn’t another official announcement for when it will come out yet, naturally. But considering the series was first announced in late October 2020 and premiered on April 8th. The Way of the HouseHusband season 2 will return and release in September 2021 if they will follow a similar production schedule.
