Notably, shows that fall under TV-MA has more mature content. There’s sex nudity, violence, drug consumption, and more in these Netflix dramas. IMDb’s parents’ guide to The Umbrella Academy ostensibly lists series as mild to moderate. Some users believe that while the use of sex and nudity is mild in the series; It moderately used gore and drug intake. Given the show’s new official rating, it’s reasonable to assume that some of these assessments will change when Season 3 releases.

Allison star Emmy Raver-Lampman hinted in February that the upcoming season may stray even more from Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá’s original comic story. “We’re running adjacent to the graphic novels, but I don’t think [creator] Steve [Blackman] is beholden at all to the graphic novels,” she said. “I think there will always be a connection there, but the further we get into The Umbrella Academy, the TV show, I think it’s finding its own way … This third season, we’re really, really doing our own thing, and I think the show has found some really cool plots to follow and explore.”
