Unfortunately, The Umbrella Academy season 3 is not going to be released on Netflix in May 2021.

The Umbrella Academy is a Netflix original action series. Based on a comic book series of the same name, the series was first released in February 2019. There are currently two seasons of The Umbrella Academy on Netflix. Both of those seasons have ten episodes each. Netflix released the second season in July 2020. And now, the fans are waiting for the third season.

Netflix already shared the list of May 2021 releases. This list also answered the questions of many different fans as to whether the productions they liked were coming to Netflix. However, The Umbrella Academy fans will have to wait for more as season 3 is not on that list. Even though it was expected, we now definitely know that The Umbrella Academy‘s season 3 is not going to come in May.

The new season has just started filming. This means it was not even that possible for it to be released in May 2021. But, Netflix confirmed it for sure now. There is no official announcement as to when The Umbrella Academy season 3 can be released, but we can make some guesses.

As we mentioned earlier, the filming process has just started for the new season. Given that, it is unrealistic to hope for a release date that is soon. There is yet to be an official announcement for a release window.

However, it is highly unlikely that the third season will be out by the end of 2021. Netflix already announced some new seasons of various popular series to come in 2021. That includes The Witcher season 2 and You season 3. They did not announce anything about The Umbrella Academy’s third season, though. This means we’ll probably have to wait for a 2022 release date.
