The group also tries to save the world from an imminent threat of apocalypse, but who cares about that, right? The series also has some cheesy comedy elements, which is inevitable given the dysfunctionality of those siblings.

The series is based on a comic of the same name written by Gerard Arthur Way. Steve Blackman and Jeremy Slater, on the other hand, are the creators of the series for Netflix. The Umbrella Academy has an ensemble cast consisting of big names such as Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, and David Castañeda. It currently has two seasons on Netflix. Fans have been waiting for the release of The Umbrella Academy season 3 since the second season dropped in July 2020. However, Netflix will not release it in June 2021, too.

The fans do not expect Netflix to release the new season in June 2021, but Netflix has now confirmed it for sure.

The Umbrella Academy season 3 production process

The reason why fans do not expect to see the new season soon is evident. That’s because the crew has not come a long way filming the season. They just started filming in February. The star Elliot Page confirmed it with a photograph he shared on Instagram. It showed us a chair with the logo of The Umbrella Academy, written “3” on it. This means we should not get our hopes up to see The Umbrella Academy season 3 on Netflix soon.

How many episodes will The Umbrella Academy season 3 have?

The first two seasons of the series have 10 episodes each. It does not seem like Netflix will change this. In addition to that, IMDb shows us there’ll be 10 episodes in the third season. Moreover, Deadline’s report says that the third season is going to have 10 episodes. So yeah, ten episodes it is.

Netflix has not said anything official about the release date of The Umbrella Academy‘s new season. However, we know that it will not be on the popular streaming platform soon.

The huge streaming giant earlier announced some of the big-profile series such as The Witcher season 2 and You season 3 coming to Netflix in Q4 2021. It’s apparent that they will not release The Umbrella Academy‘s third season prior to the last quarter of 2021. This means we’re probably underway for a 2022 release.
