Netflix does love upping the excitement before the release of season 3 on June 22, 2022. The streamer just released a mysterious character poster featuring Viktor Hargreeves alongside a cube with the caption “Lucky Number 7(s)” for The Umbrella Academy season 3 character reveal. What could it mean? Will two Viktor Hargreeves make an appearance? Well, it’s a little complicated. 

What is that cube or who is THAT cube?

The cube is none other than Viktor Hargreevees’ Sparrow Academy counterpart, Christopher in The Umbrella Academy season 3. Here’s the Netflix description for the character: “Christopher is a telekinetic cube of unknown origin. He can turn the room freezing cold and induce paralyzing fear. He acts as the Sparrows’ consulted oracle who hands out incredible advice and serves as the family mediator. Trustworthy, loyal, and treated by the Sparrows like any other sibling, Christopher is a force to be reckoned with.”

Who is Viktor Hargreeves in The Umbrella Academy?

On the other hand, fans will meet the newly transitioned Vanya, Viktor Hargreeves in The Umbrella Academy. The character transition mirrors the actor, Elliott Page’s own transition in real life. 

Netflix’s description of the character: “Viktor was relegated to No. 7 in the Umbrella Academy after Hargreeves used medication to suppress his incredible ability to convert sound into powerful blasts of energy. After almost destroying the world twice, he has discovered his true self and his power.”

In season 2, the superhero siblings had successfully averted the Armageddon threat to save the world. But when they returned to their original timeline, they realized there was a mega shift in reality. Dead Ben Hargreeves is very much alive and leading The Sparrow Academy in this reality. This sets the stage for the clash between the Hargreeves and the Sparrows. The second season introduced time travels and alternate timelines and this is surely going to move the story forward in season 3. While they continue to have internal power battles, major threats will threaten to destroy the world. They’ll have to work together to eliminate the threat and make things right before it gets any worse.
