The Seven Deadly Sins fans are waiting for the final episodes of season 5 to come to Netflix, but when is it happening?

The Seven Deadly Sins is a 2014 anime series that is based on a manga of the same name, written by Nakaba Suzuki. Netflix acquired its license to release it in English, and they released all of the 24 episodes in the first season in November 2015. Netflix has been sharing the new episodes of this popular anime since then. It’s a no-brainer for Netflix to do it, as The Seven Deadly Sins is their second exclusive anime. Besides, it has a pretty solid fan base and a good 8.0 IMDb rating.

There are currently five seasons of The Seven Deadly Sins on the popular streaming platform. However, there’s a catch. All of the episodes of the fifth season are already available in Japan. They finished releasing the weekly episodes on June 23rd. The season is completely released over there. On the other hand, Netflix only has half of the episodes of the fifth season. The fans are waiting for the next twelve episodes to come to the popular streaming platform.

Well, there’s no exact release date announced as you might have figured. It’s always possible to make some guesses based on the previous releases, though.

The first episodes of The Seven Deadly Sins Season 5 had to spend three months in the Netflix Jail. They finished releasing the first twelve episodes at the end of March 2021 in Japan. Netflix released those episodes on the platform on June 28th. So, it takes around 3 months to do the whole thing.

The anime finished airing in Japan on June 23rd, 2021. We’ll need to add three months on that to find out the possible release date of the remaining episodes. Therefore, the most probable release window for the last 12 episodes of The Seven Deadly Sins Season 5 coming between September – October 2021.

The reason we’re waiting for the episodes is that Netflix needs time to dub and add subtitles to the new episodes. Even though subtitles presumably do not take that long, some voice actors might be unavailable on Netflix due to the pandemic. So, it makes our wait longer, but there’s no need to worry as the scheduling seems pretty clear. We’d still have to wait until an official announcement to be sure, though.

Unfortunately not. The remaining episodes of the fifth season will have covered all the content in the manga. Therefore, it will mark the ending of this adaptation.

However, there’s a sequel to The Seven Deadly Sins manga, which is named Four Knights of the Apocalypse. It is written by the same person, Nakaba Suzuki. If someone, or Netflix itself, decides to adapt it into an anime, we’ll see the continuation of The Seven Deadly Sins saga. There’s no information on that yet.
