Has Netflix announced The Serpent season 2 release date yet? Is the second season of the series in production?

The Serpent made its debut on the popular streaming platform on April 2nd, 2021. The producers of the show were Netflix and BBC One and they released the show as a limited series. This means that there are no plans to release another season and the last episode of the first season is the absolute final.

The series tells about a serial killer named Charles Sobhraj who murdered more than 20 people. The killer is also known as The Bikini Killer, The Splitting Killer, and also The Serpent, hence the name of the series. And the series on Netflix tells about his actions and how he preyed on tourists with his associates, including his girlfriend Marie-Andrée Leclerc (played by Jenna Coleman).

That being said, we have seen a few exceptions in the past. A couple of series initially planned as limited series got new seasons and more episodes after receiving a really good score from the audience. Though The Serpent might not get the same roadmap. As the show is based on true events about a psychopath and serial killer, we have seen pretty much everything concerning Charles Sobhraj and his twisted actions.

Although there has not been any official announcements or comments from the producers, we are probably not going to The Serpent season 2 in 2021. We do not know what the future holds though.

Netflix might release a similar TV series focusing on a serial killer and his actions as well. Although it is not a drama series, The Sons of Sam: A Descent Into Darkness is a great crime documentary about another serial killer called David Berkowitz.

There is not any official announcement for an upcoming season. So we do not know whether we are going to see new faces in The Serpent season 2. But we have listed the talented actors and actresses who starred in the first season.

The first season of The Serpent consists of eight episodes and the series star Tahar Rahim along with Jenna Coleman, Ellie Bamber, Billy Howle, Tim McInnerny, and more. Every episode lasts about an hour and the limited series offers an 8-hour journey through the serial killer’s life.
