A sequel for the 2019 movie Tall Girl, Tall Girl 2, will start filming this April 2021, and the movie is expected to be released on Netflix around the end of this year.

Tall Girl is a romantic comedy that was released back in September 2019. A Netflix original, the movie was not a good hit with critics – as seen from its 5,2 IMDb and %44 Rotten Tomatoes ratings. It was relatively popular on Netflix though, being viewed forty-one million times in just four weeks after release.

Starring Ava Michelle, Sabrina Carpenter, Griffin Gluck, and Paris Berelc, Tall Girl already had some audience waiting for a sequel. Ava Michelle, playing the main character Jodi in the movie, said there were talks about a sequel just after the movie was delivered back in September 2019.

“I’m excited to see hopefully Jodi’s senior year and to see what happens there, but I really don’t know. There’s talk, but I really don’t know, we’ll see.”

We hadn’t heard about any Tall Girl developments until December 2020 that the sequel was actually a thing. They did not report a filming date back then.

But now, a new issue of ProductionWeekly has just confirmed that Tall Girl 2 will be in the works this April. They also reported the filming is expected to wrap up in May. This means Tall Girl 2 can actually be ready by the end of the year, but we’ll have to wait to see what happens. There’s yet to be an official announcement about the release date.

Just like in the first movie, Ava Michelle will be playing the lead character Jodi Kreyman. The only actor listed from the first movie to return for the sequel is Michelle, but, likely, many faces from Tall Girl will also be in the second movie. McG, Steven Bello, Mary Viola, and Corey Marsh will still be in their executive roles.
